(This is Pg 4) Unit Training
Austin Medical Company strives to have exciting and important training at our monthly drills.  Our members suggest and teach the majority of our drills. We also utilize outside experts and off-site locations.
We combine Mission Essential Drills with Adventure Training.  Mission Drills focus on preparing 3 Day Go-Packs,  Shelter Operations,  Medical & Operational skills,  & Military Training.   Adventure Training may include things not directly related to the mission, but include a Military component.  We try to schedule at least one Adventure Training per year. Below are samples of previous and on-going drills.
Swift-Water Awareness Training

Go-Pack Shakedown Hike to practice lightweight packing of 3 Day Go-Pack Emergency Gear, Food & Water.  We agree its better to have your stuff fall off your pack during drill, rather than a real mission--much less embarrassing.  We also use it to swap ideas & build company esprit de corps.
